Terms of use
The plain-English version: this site is educational, and it is not your insurer, your emergency manager, or your contractor.
This website is operated by Go Check My Brands LLC, a South Carolina limited liability company. Contact: hello@gocheckmystorm.com.
Educational purposes only
GoCheckMyStorm provides free educational tools and general information about hurricane and home readiness. Nothing on this site is insurance advice, safety advice, engineering advice, or legal or financial advice. We are not emergency management officials, insurers, engineers, or contractors, and nothing here is advice for your specific situation. Our tools apply the same published rules and public information to everyone's answers; they do not know your full circumstances.
Officials own the safety call
Watches, warnings, and evacuation orders come from your local emergency management officials and the National Weather Service, and their guidance outranks anything on this site, always. Nothing here tells you whether or when to evacuate. If you are ever in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
Verify before you act
Flood zones, flood-claim history, and risk figures come from public FEMA and Census data that can lag real conditions and describe areas, not specific properties. Insurance questions, including deductibles and whether flood is covered, belong with a licensed agent. Structural, anchoring, and generator installation questions belong with licensed professionals in your area. Confirm everything that matters with the right professional or official source before acting.
