Privacy
The short version: no account, no email, no lead capture. Most of the tools are built so there is very little about you to collect in the first place. This page describes, plainly, what does happen.

What we do not collect
There is no sign-up anywhere on this site. We do not ask for an account, an email address, a phone number, or a payment method to use any of the tools. We do not sell or share your information, and we do not capture your details to pass to lenders, insurers, or contractors as sales leads.
The tools run in your browser
The readiness check, the generator sizing helper, and the supply calculator run in your browser. The answers you enter are used to produce your result on your own device. The "Copy link to your results" feature encodes your answers inside the link itself, so a saved or shared link carries the answers within the link's own text.
Live pages and government data
On the Flood History page, the flood-claim history, county risk, and disaster figures are looked up in your browser from data files published with this site, so entering a ZIP for those figures does not send it anywhere. That page and the live pages below also connect to outside services.
The Storm Center, the radar page, the hurricanes page, and the Flood History live checks load their data and imagery directly from third-party government and public services. Depending on the page, that includes the National Weather Service (api.weather.gov) for active alerts and advisories, the National Hurricane Center and NOAA (nhc.noaa.gov) for tropical outlooks and maps, FEMA (hazards.fema.gov) for the flood zone at a location, and Iowa State University's Iowa Environmental Mesonet (mesonet.agron.iastate.edu) for radar tiles. These requests are made directly from your browser to those services. Because they go directly to those services, your IP address is visible to them, and they handle it under their own privacy policies, not ours.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused, cookieless analytics tool, to understand aggregate site traffic such as which pages are viewed and general referrer and device information. It does not set cookies, does not track you across other websites, and is not used to build a profile of you or to identify you personally.
Hosting and server logs
This site is hosted on Netlify. As with any web host, Netlify's servers process standard technical request information, such as your IP address and browser type, in order to deliver and protect the site. This is ordinary server operation and is not something we use to identify individual visitors.

Some outbound links on this site are affiliate links; see How we make money. Following one takes you to a partner's own website, which is governed by that partner's privacy policy, not this one.
Children
This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If our practices change, we will update this page and the date below. Because the site collects so little, changes should be rare.
